yesh esh!!

Yesh esh means there is fire. . . I knew that. . . congrats me. (yesh=there is; esh=fire)
Ok so in my FYS the class starts and were waiting for people to show up for our intercultural meeting the new term for study abroad program. And so this lady from a South African study aboad program comes with the head person of the program, and they explain it and then the girl from S. Africa explains her trip and got me actually interested, but I have no money time or yeah any where near capable, anyhow, afterwards our professor was like hey I recomend doing it and I went to Israel for my foreign exchange program. And he told us about all this stuff and then he said yeah one time there was this fire in Jerusalem and so I got to call the fire department, and well with my great knowlege (sarcasm) of modern hebrew I had know idea what to say. So I said Yesh Esh!!! and they kept saying ephoe ephoe ephoe, where where where and I didn't know how to tell them and I never saw them put it out, it just kept growing and growing. which i find kind of funny cuz thats a really crowded city you would think someone who knew hebrew would have called and told them. Anyhow a whole crapload of stuff has happenned, but mostly I've just been getting short sleep and these last two days I tried to get it back, but 2 days ago I got to sleep 1.5 hours early and then realized I had to be up 2 hours earlier for lifeguard work, and then last night I thought I'ld do a half hour of chem at 10 and then go to bed cuz that's how long it normally takes me, but yeah first chem assignment that took me longer and it took me 2 hours the problem was my quad mate friends continued to yell as they played halo outside my room till 2:30 and then I woke up at 6 somthing and decided to go back to sleep yeah I woke up at 8:00 for Bert's alarm looked at my watch and was like I don't have an alarm at 8 oh shit yeah shit I'm supposed to be in class at 8 so I managed to get to the other side of campus in 6 min theres' only one building farther from my dorm on the whole campus and it's right next to it. So yeah thats an idea of my campus and so finally I got sometime and then I sucked it up in chem lab and manage to get one in 4 runs to be good the last one was actually awesome but during the titrating I forgot to look where it started. And band was actually really fun lately, until yesterday where I sucked it up and felt pretty bad about it, and I get to play Vesuvius, and I finally know what 4 pieces were playing for the concert and it's an hour of music. ok and I guess thats enough to make yall read for now and Ineed more sleep but everyone here left for the weekend, and please bother me

oh and who's still reading if you could leave a comment to let me know that would be awesome or if you want to say somthing to me that works to

Philosophical math

You have to try this
Intro:
ok so. . .Dr. Richter my math teacher was telling us about how he had this really memorable math teacher in grad school that was actually 2 years younger than him, and was a real super hot shot type of guy. anyhow he was in the paper for a book he wrote, and the reviewer said it was a good book except for this one concept and so him and Dr. Starbird (the writer) went on and on, until they both gave up. And then my professor said that he thought the reviewer had a good point, and was actually right but his colleagues didn't agree. Ok so now
Math:
simple probability
ok if a lady has 2 children and the older one is a boy what are the odds that he has a sister. (assuming m to f ratio is equal)
Well you take all the possibilities
BB
BG
[GB
GG
the bottom 2 both have an older sister and are therefore eliminated, leaving only the top 2.]
and there both equally likely so it's 1 possiblity of a sister over 2 total possiblilites or half.
ok so you get that right
then . . .
ok if a lady has 2 children and one of them is a boy what are the odds that he has a sister.

now did you say half. . .cuz if you did . . .
BB
BG
GB and. . .
GG are possiblities but GG is void so you have 3 possible answers and 2 where he has a sister
so 2/3 are the odds he has a sister.

If that surprised you don't worry this is a known and agreed upon math fact,

Now that puzzle idea was in the book and that was similar to what was there but the reviewer like some and maybe all of yall did not know that ahead of time. but his puzzle was. . .

If a lady has a son named Victor what are the odds he has a sister
and the reviewer argued well the odds if he's the older brother is half, and the odds if he's the younger are half and since their equally probably it's half.
So my professor came up with a theoretical experiment

if there is a world of 400 families with 2 children each. .. and one in 10 boys happens to be named victor . . . lets see what happens
100BB. . . 18 families with 1 victor 1 family with 2 Victors see below for
100BG.. . 10 families with 1 Victor
100GB. . .10 families with 1 Victor
100GG. . .0 Victor's

the first B has one in 10 chance of being Victor so there are 10
of those 10 one in 10 of those should be named Victor which is . . .
9 families with one Victor and 1 with 2
and then of the remaining 90 families with out an older brother named Victor 10% of 9 of them will be named Victor. so. . .
you have 9families + 9families with one victor + 1family with 2 victors
there are a total of 39 families with Victor's and 20 of which have a sister
so the odds are 20/39 not what he expected to get, but leaning on the proof to say it is one half rather than 2/3

PHILOSOPHY:
ok math is widely reguarded as the most certain discipline, even over the natural science, yet everything in math is only there because people believe an argument.

ok that and umm. . .why are people so difficult I mean I was working and got excited cuz I had 4 people in the computer lab at one time not even including me
of course 3 of them were working together, on a stock project and one of their old professors came by and they asked for advice and first he only joked by low sell high, and then later he started giving kind of advice. . . and finally this kid started asking questions. . .well eventually he was like that's good that's good now you're asking the right question I'm not gonna answer that but that's the right question
so how come people will answer questions until the right one is asked shouldn't it be the other way around.
anyhow this just me making observations about the world
we answer only what doesn't matter, and our most concrete and certain thing is entire abstract. Awesome huh. . look down the grounds not there oh wait forgot thats concrete >p
well have fun and hope I didn't bore you to much

sakatata

I am Sakatata, hehe in cuneiform writing cuz there has to be a vowel after every letter and we had to write our names in cunneiform today, on ancient clay tablets (play-doh), but our school really does have a real cunneiform tablet which is it's oldest as the librarian said "book" in the school, but in reality it is the oldest reciept ever found, Shulgi giving a donation to a church and so ha
oh and there was this fun speaker who came he's a lawyer, I'm not much of a fan of but he had some fun stuff like stories and he's done a lot of broadening the legal definition of relgion in the courts, and like there was an American Ethical Union, where they didn't have a god they excepted aetheist, agnostic, and believers, but the court said didn't count as religion, since no deity and so no tax cut (yet it is all about the money hehe), so they got it the point of if they put a 59 chevy on a pedestool they would have been considered a religion and finally had the defintion changed so you didn't even need a deity thank god lol. anyhow one of our huge rivals is Baylor and they tend to steal all our med students, but we still get tons of bio, but anyways back to the trial oh well when they were getting professional witnesses to set the standard they got Baylor Baptist priests and scholars to be the professional for keeping them out, and Southwestern Methodist priests and scholars to give them the credit, and so it was pretty awesome, plus he was like my mom was prolly turning over a grave, cuz (different case)she would have been like so son what have you done today I cross examined a catholic priest,
so yea it was fun and now it's:
Naked Day
and that should get someone to comment ask say somthing pleasse. . . .
and no there is no nudity allowed on campus, but still ask

Skipping!?

Oh yea yesterday when I wrote my post I forgot to say I skipped my first class yesterday,
see it all began when (some spiffy music, neat intro and story begins):
I'm in sociology class and it's supposed to get out at 9:15 so I can get to my next class at 9:30, but he got involved in the topic, and so he let us out late (9:22 to be exact hehe) luckily though the next class my FYS was in a building pretty close. So I get there with. . . about 3 min to spare maybe a little more, and there's no one there so I figure heh maybe there all talking somewhere and they'll all come in last second. Well 9:30 no one's there so I start worrying and looking around this has got to be the right room, I can't seriously be doing this so I check my backpack for my schedule to check and make sure I did't some how mix it up, but it was in the room, so I run back to my dorm come check the schedule run over to the room yep it's the right room number now there are some upper classmen or maybe staff members there who are like hey are you lost and I explain the situation and there like I don't know but the lady around the corner will konw of any classes being moved for purposes or whatnot. So I go find her and she's like there's nothing I know of let me check. So she goes through her computer nope I have no idea. So I'm freaking out and using her suggestion to check my email run back again to my dorm its now 9:45 and I'm checking my email there's nothing there, I remember last week he mentioned somthing about getting free coffee I thought he said at the cove sometime so I check there he's not there. I go back to the classroom a different building, and then decide I can't just skip class so I go to the Cullen building (administrative building) on the other side of campus, so I get there, and don't know who to go to so I go to the admissions lady cuz it's a familiar face and tell her the situation, and she's like go to the registrar they'll know of any class moves, so I ask them and they all ask each other are like nothing I know of then check the computer nope nothing here. So I finally give up it's now 10 and I walk back to the old classroom and sit there thinking maybe one of them will walk by and if they see me, they'll realize what happenned well fell half asleep oh and another thing I was going to try at the beginning was caling bert but then I was like class just started I shouldn't call him, and never took the phone out of my pocket, Turns out I did here free coffee but it was the library and had I been intelligent enough to actually pull my cell out of my pocket I would have noticed that Bert was nice enough to leave me a voicemail that we were at the library as a reminder.
So yea I felt dumb.
OK but just a heads up most of ya'll are still being beat in comments by a commercial lets see Kristin is tied, and everyone else is losing 0 to 1 man yall arent very good at this
hint hint
please comment
that was your really bigger (with best possible grammar hehe) hint
OK lets see I should prolly do quote of the day
oh and hebrew of the day Be Kool
ok that came from the FYS professor's office I went there afterwards to explain to him, and turn in my paper that was do, and there was some word then under it peace and under that shalom so I asked him if the top one was arabic and I was right and he's like I bet you can read that, and so I look a little lower and it's bet with the e vowel yud which spells be and then koof vov with dot making oo sound and then lamed spelling Kool so it's be kool
how awesome is that
OK and then after that,
quote of the day (checking email)
"There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness."
Friedrich Nietzsche
" Success is simple. Do what's right, the right way, at the right time."
Arnold H. Glasgow.
Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen. Thinkexist.com Quotations
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Yea I know that was 3 but I've been lacking a bunch
