TORAH STUDY

210 minutes; 3.5 hours; more than an eigth of the day.
I studied torah, Yes my first torah study was not half an hour not an hour but a full three and a half hours. I'm excited it's like my first shabbat I feel uplifted.
Now for the irony
My first TORAH STUDY ever was with a group of Christians, 4 of them. Bonny, Shea, Josh, and the leader Wade.
Now you might be like umm. . . .your crazy Christians don't study torah. and I would tell you yes
but Jews don't believe in Jesus
yes Diedre you are laughing at me now, I studied with Messianic Jews, Jews for Jesus it was funny how long it took me to catch on maybe halfway through the 2nd hour maybe the third. I even said how before walking in I had thought Messianic Judaism as the funniest religion on the planet. Luckily I said my opinion had been changed, but I didn't realize then any were and an hour later I caught on one guy probably was.
Ok so now to avoid my humiliation and back to torah study.
It was Abraham from getting the covenant to Sodom and Gomorrah to sacrificing his son. Then we did the haftorah and then we did Kings 2 in the new testament Beer cha chadasha I believe and yes diedre those cha's are choh choh choh ( for normal people: a jewish version of santa's laugh). But yeah it was spectacular, no one tried to convert me Josh was pretty awesome and Wade was pretty enthusiastic.

Ok now for my thoughts to sound like Mark? the jewish speaker at the peace conference.

Ok so the Messianic Jews are pretty much like duel outcasts Christians call them jews and jews call them Christian I think politically there ranked a branch of Chrisitanity since they have so many branches they don't mind as much.
What surprised me is there religion is built like Judaism but most of them are exChristians from split families. 2 of them there aren't allowed back home, and Wade is going back for the first time since studying torah and doesn't know what will happen. They are making use of Josh's uncles' church who was very reluctant until the church seemed to be struck by god to let them use it on Fridays' since they are very jew sided and realize sabbath is Friday and the church moved it to Sunday to align with the resurection or somthing.

Oh by the way never debate with a Messianic Jew they will kick your ass being masters of both the tanakh and be'er cha dosh (old testament and new testament).
Oh there were great and I can't wait to study again, I also want to go to their services I'm not going to convert but they seem like a great group to study and pray with. Plus I get to learn bits about Christianity and more important I can do religious battles with Kevin now.

They also believe mainstream Chrisitanity has painted a very roman and wrong picture of YEshua (Jesus) and never once mentioned what religion they were so I don't know if they refer to themselves as messianic jews or what. But I do know they consider themselves Christians who study torah and do not seperate themselves from Judaism.

Ok now where I actually sound like Mark?
Ok so in the past Chrisitianity used to be very similiar to Judaism and Judaism outcasted it cuz well they believed in another god. This complete outcasting is somthing that is very easily seen especially when knowing that the orthodox jews don't even count me as a real jew, but more as a poser because I"m conservative (like Catholic to protestant). Now add in the Roman killing taxing and put all types of pressures on jews, and so they gave up and ran the other way so as to avoid the Roman negatives and picked up a lot of gentiles in the religion now you have a religion avoiding judaism and most of them come from a Roman background what happens the religion goes Roman, and forgets its Jewish background for 1800 years. Now we have the messianic jews and we still are refusing them jewishness, now that pushing away I believe caused the antisemitism in Christianity and helped bring on the holocaust and the crusades, and several others and to not except them again is to ask, cry, beg, and plead to be wiped out again, but this is where I serious contradict Judaism I have a problem with black and white and I have a problem with yes means no to everything else. I believe that they should be able to be both Christian and Jewish and not pick and choose like most who try this do, but to follow the way I saw this group following today.

Ok definately not the best quote but I think the funniest, I'm not sure how much I can believe that and definately don't count it as proof cuz people see what they want to see, especailly him Josh was really good about that actually.
